December 2013 to April 2015

The London North Eastern (LNE) Signalling Power Distribution Renewals Phases 1 and 2 GRIP 5-8 projects aims to achieve the installation of a new 650V signalling lineside feeder system to replace the existing non-compliant feeders. This involves the installation of new Principal Supply Points (PSP), Auxiliary Supply Points (ASP) and the modification of existing feeder stations along the LNE line.

The feeders are being installed in a partial auto-reconfigurable arrangement; in this arrangement, the system will be fitted with auto-reconfigurable units within the PSP and ASP (at each end of a given feeder), and would protect the feeder power supply in the event of a failure at the PSP.

The partial auto-reconfigurable installation is to be augmented by means of installing additional auto-reconfigurable units at all location cases which control junctions effectively allowing major routes to remain operational even in the event of a fault.

Tier One Commercial Management were engaged by the client to provide project Quantity Surveying services, managing change and risk to successfully deliver the project.
